;A ; mob of 128 head of oattle passed through-here.on Sunday en route to Gisborne, They 'are the property of Messrs Butler and Carroll, of Opotibi. ' Mr Wi Pere, M.H.R., passed through here on Thursday last en routs to Opotiki. . The school pidnio will bs held,on Wednesday. , ‘ * ' '
A concert and dance will take place at Bakauroa on Friday evening., A cricket match botween the Bast and West Ends of Motu will be played, on Saturday. A considerable amount of bush will be felled by settlers in the Rakauroa district this year. Mr Hill, Inspector of Schools, examined the three, district schools lost week.
Mr T. G. Lawless, district agent for the Australian Widows’ Fund, paid a visit to this district, last week.
Mr W. Fisher, J.P., intends leaving for a. tripl to the Old Country about the end of next month..
