TOBAGO BAY RACES. (Special to Gisborne Times.) Tolago Bay, last night. The Tolago Bay Raoing Olub were favored with fine weather for their annual race meeting, which took place on the protty course on the banks of the Uawa river yesterday! Thdro was a large atten. dance, including many visitors from Gisborne. The Hauiti baud rendered a firstclass programme of mUßic, which added considerably to the day’s enjoyment. The totalisator, under the supervision of Mr H. Martin,-gave every satisfaction, the* dividends being paid with the utmost promptitude. Daring the day the sum of £3030 was passed through the machine, as against £2385 for the previous year. The arrangements for the meeting were of a most satisfactory character, and reflected the utmost credit upon Mr W. E. Holder, the’popular secretary, who was unremitting in his efforts to promote the success of the gathering. The following are the results :
