[ . Ashburton, last night. Captain Thackeray died suddenly in the ' Hospital this morning. He had been a farmer m the Methvon distriot for many years, and was a nephew of Thackeray, the novelist. Ha entered the hospital a few months ago suffering with a broken ‘leg, which was mending. An inquest will be held to-morrow. *
