The Mayor and City Councillors, a ba:. talion of volunteers, and the Defence Rifle Club, to which the champion mom bers belong, took part in the reception, whioh „ was most enthusiastic. In addition to the championship the district securod a large proportion of prizes, in all £l4l in prizo money .beside trophios being brought over by Nelson shots, no man returning with lees than £5.
