WAIROA NOTES.
Mr P. Wilson is about to erect a new goods-shed for Captain Davidson at the
town wharf. Mr W. Boothman, o£ Ruakituri, left on a trip to the Old Country. He expects to bo away about seven months and will travol homewards by the Suez route, returning via Vancouver. The new County Hospital building was opened on Wednesday afternoon, the initial ceremonies being of the most successful character.
Mr David Shaw, jun., of Morere, is filling the pulpit of St. Andrew’s Church, Gisborne, whila the Rev. J. G. Paterson is on his holiday. Mr G. Nelson (of Messrs Niven and Co., Napier), accompanied by Mr Hector Smith, of Koroldpo, Hawke’s Bay, arrived overland on Wednesday, and left for Waikaromoana on Friday. Mr Nelson intends to inspect the sources of electrical energy during bis stay at the Lake,
