INVERCARGILL, last night. A} deputation of about seventy, business men anil settlers waited on Sin Joseph Ward-to,-day, and urged the construction of the Edlevalo to Roxburgh lino.. The Minister said there were several important uncompleted lines in Southland, and as there was only a certain amount of money available for railways, they would have hotter- prospects. of lie ing dealt with reasonably by 'Cabinet if they confined their attention to one. or at most two linos. lie promised 'toplace the matter- botore the Minister for Works.
