An extra match, 800yds, was fired in a tricky wind, which blow across the range, disturbing many of the marksmen, who appeared to bo hardly at home at the long range, notwithstanding the size of the targets, which are Bft by 6ft, with a 3ft bull’s-eye. Cole (Waimea) and P. Jack (Ohristohuroh) were the only possiblemakers, and divided the first and second prizes. There wore but three 34’s and three 33’s. The match was started at, 10, and finished shortly after 4. The prize list was open to members of the New Zealand defence forces, defence rifle clubs, and the defence forces of the Commonwealth, 800yds, 7 shots, which resulted :

The extra match, 900 yards, was started at tho close of the 800, but very few completed their shots before the firing ceaßed for the night.
