METHODIST CONFERENCE.

The Methodist Conference continued to day. The report on church properties regretted the increase in the joint capital debit during the past year. It has increased by £I6OO, raising the percentage from 9 to At the same time the past year has shown a striking advance in church property. The total value of properties is £225,291. The report was adopted. Tho church building and loan fund Bhowed that there are now 156 loans current, the number granted last year being 17, ten totalling £2300. Overdue instalments from each district are : Auckland £336, Wanganui £2OO, Wellington £247, Canterbury £45, Otago £23. The Committee trust that earnest endeavours will be made to reduce these amounts. The report was adopted. The fire insurance report showed that the guarantee fund was £13,260, and cash on deposit £2550. The reports were adopted. Later. —At the Methodist Conference the Native and Destitute Children’s Education Trust’s report was submitted and adopted. One clause declared that the tune was now come when steps should be taken to establish a children’s home in order to enable the oity of Wellington to fulfil the condition of endowment. An interesting discussion took place on the report re the formation of young men’s forward movement. The report w-as adopted, It waß also decided to appoint an organisation agent to hold an evangelistic mission for men. The appointment of the agent was deferred till Thursday. The Wellington committee of management was appointed, Appropriation was made for the training of fix European students for the Ministry at Prince Albert College. Mr G. Buttle. Auckland, was reappointed treasurer of tho Theological Institution. The Rev. J. H. Bimmonds was heartily thanked for his services and reappointed principal of the Three King’s College. Sunday collection was requested to be made iD all churctaes during tiio year in aid of -this College, which requires to be rebuilt
