BAD BOYS.
(Per Press Association.) Auckland, yesterday.
Soven boys who were concerned in a raid upon a wedding breakfast at the residence of Mr Thomaß H. Garland in Ponsouby on February 16th were obarged before Mr S. E. MoCarthy, S.M., yesterday. Sub-Inspector Black stated that the articles wero laid out upon a tabh in a tent. Two of the boys got through the feDOe while the other boys waited in the next g.irden and duly received their share of the cake and fruit which was appropriated. Articles op, the table were broken, and the total damage amounted to £3 10s. The prosecutor, who did not press the charge, said the principal damage was the broakiog of'tfoo wedding cake. . One’of the boys’ parents assured tho Magistrate that the case was a very frivolous one,and there was ODly the usual 11 tin-banning” indulged in at weddiDgs, but His Worship expressed surprise at anyone attempting to justify wilful mischief and .theft, and said the case was one in whioh he should warn the boys that they would be severely dealt with if they came before him again. He ordered defendants to pay 11b eaoh towards the damage done and expense of the proceedings.
