STATE COAL MINE.
DIFFICULTIES WITH MEN. - (Per Press Association.) Westport, last night. The working agreement between the management and the Miners’ Union at tho SoddonviUe; State Mine expired on Saturday. The minors, it is • understood, declined to renew it;‘necessitating the closing down of the mine to-day. Mr Bishop, manager of the State mines, is expected from Greymouth in the morning, and it is hoped an amicable settlement of the difficulty will be effected.
