”rhe 700 yards mark of the Wellington match commenced after dinner and did not conclnda until 5 p.m. The shooting was indifferent until just before the close, when the wind dropped considerably, and the marksmen were able to get on or near the bullseye. One or two 44’s were then put ap and it was only then that anything over 84 waß totalled for the match. The aoores w.snt up rapidly afterwards, but there was no hope of the oentury being reached. .Mulroy (Nelson) came out on top'with his score of 88, being six short of the possible. At each range his score waa applauded. Humphreys (Hastings) and McEwan (Taranaki) were runners up,each having scored 43 at 600 range and 44 at the 700. All down to 79 came into the prize list, and Tyres .won £1 with 75. ■She Nelson match, at 500, 600 and 700 yards ranges commences In the morning.
