She told an astonished Benoh last week that for some months she had got up at five' in the morning, milked 23 cows, assisted in the household work, washed tins, harnessed up the horse, fed the calves, cleaned out the bails,, got dinner ready, milked 23 cows again in the evening, and finished her duties at 7.30, thus working: 14£ hours daily-—and all for 12s a week and found. And yet there are soores of mistresses; in the cities offering easy billets and all sorts of luxuries and privileges and unable to get help of-any kind —Observer.
