TWO FIRES

{Pei Press Association.) Ashburton, last night. I Shortly after 11 o’olock on Saturday I night a seven roomed house, owned and I occupied by Stephen Potter, was totally I destroyed by fire. The fire was caused through the explosion of a kerosene lamp. Only a small quantity or furniture was I saved. The house and furniture were in insured for £7OO in the North British Company. About S p.m. on Sunday a house; , occupied by Constable Tull, was ' discovered to bo on fire, but the prompt arrival of the j brigade saved it. The . furniture was damaged hy water. It was insured in the Manchester Office. The housß was insured for £l5O in the North British.
