Christchurch, last night. The Australian-Canterbury match began to-day. Canterbury won the toss, and elected to bat. All were disposed of for 119, Barron 30, Ollivier 22, Callaway 16, Lawrence 14, Ellis not out 14. Noble took seven wickets for 38. The Australians at time had lost 5 wickets for 82, Armstrong not out 31, Noble 18, Hopkins 12.
