THE ROAD RACE
COMPLETION OF THE THIRD SECTION.

Sydney, Feb. 23. For the third section from Gundagai to Albury, 121 miles, the weather and roads were good. A high wind dead ahead considerably retarded competitors. Gard and James arrived together first, the former’s riding;time being 6 hours 16 minutes, and James 6 hours 19 minutes. Stevens waß next. Ho covered the distance in 5 hours 23 minutes. He was absolutely the last of the competitors to leave. J. W. Moffatt, Victoria, in a nine horse power Talbot oar, did the journey in 5 hours 28 minutes. On level ground some car 3 made 48 miles an hour. Several, including the officials' car (which came to grief yesterday and was patched up again) broke down,. There were no serious mishaps.
