The' conditions'Were 12 men, 10 -shots at eaoh'range "of' 600 - and-700 yards. The totals were': • Karbri’Olub, 765, Petone Club 756, Battalion 712.

The Premier unveiled at the Mission to Seamen’s Home a memorial tablet to the late Captain Williards/ whoße widow is the donor of the premises reoently erected for the Mission to Seamen. The Premier paid an eulogy to the deceased, who was formerly a large shipowner in Wellington, and regretted there was no such institute outside Wellington. Another meeting of Russian sympathisers carried similar resolutions to those adopted at the demonstration a few weeks back.
Mr T. E. Seddon, second son of the Premier, has been advised by cable that be has passed the first section of the LL.B. examination.
The following cable has been received by Mr Trevor-Gould, resident secretary of the Equitable Life Society : “The directors unanimously resolved that policy-holders bo given the right to vote for election of directors, and that steps be taken to carry the principle into effect at the earliest opportunity. A oommittee has been appointed to arrange details. This change was inaugurated by the directors in the interests of policy holders of the society. Mr James Alexander was re-elected president, Mr Jas. H. Hyde re-elected vice president, G. Tarbell re-elected vice-president. All other officers were also re-elected. The assurances in force on December 31st amounted to over 300 millions, and the assets to over 85 millions, an increase for the year of over 6£ millions. The surplus is over millions.”
