MINING ACCIDENTS.
(Per Press Association.) Thames, last night.
Lupton, who was injured through a premature explosion at the Komata Reefs mine, had his face and head injured, bnt is now out of danger. It was thought at first that he would lose his sight, but since his admission to the Thames hospital he has made great progress. His eyesight is safe.'
Otto, the mate of Henry Peploe, killed in the Mascotte mine, near Thames, is euff.ring severely from shook caused by the death of Peploe. The latter was billed outright in the shaft. Otto did all that was possible. He ran three miles, and when assistance was available returned with several lads. He placed deceased's body in the bucket, which the boys wound I up to the surface. The mine is in an isolated position.
