ROWING.
GISBOENE BOWING CLUB
The seoond heat of the Schumacher Gup | was rowed last evening between crews [ stroked by Donkin and Johnston. Both orews started together, but immediately afterwards Donkin forged ahead and had a lead of a length and a half at the bridge.' Johnston spurted here, but made very little impression, and Donkin, maintaining his lead, won comfortably by a good length and a .half. The third heat between Williams and Bodie produced a good race. Both crews got away to an excellent start, and Williams had a slight advantage at the bridge, which he maintained to Nisbest’s, when 'Bodie made an effort and gradually reduced the gap. Another j spurt by Bodie almost caught Williams napping, and a ding-dong race resulted to the finishing post,. Williams being adjudged the winner by one-third of a length. To-morrow evening Adair meets I Donkin, aad Williams meets Bayly. j
