Westport, last night. The reoent exhibition resulted in a profit of £ll2 7s 2d.
New Plymouth, last night. A meeting under the Tradesmen’s Assotion thanked the Premier for passing the State Fire Insurance Bill, and asked for amendments in the law relating to colonial and foreign insurance companies.
Masterton, last night. There was beautiful weather for People’s Day at the show, the attendance being botween 6000 and 7000.
Dunedin, last night. The Cricket Association, revoking its former decision, has decided to play only, eleven men against the Australians. Christchurch, last night. Captain Fisher, son of Mr Geo. Fisher, addressed the electors to-night as an Independent Liberal. He severely criticised the Government administration. He was standing as an out-androut Prohibitionist. He anticipated chance of reform under a than under the . Opposition, of thanks was awarded on Mr TrEi-Taylor’s motion.
