j [(Bee Press 'Association.) | Christchurch, last night. I There was a small attendance at Adj dington to-day, farmers being busy harvesting. The entries, with the exception of store sheep, were moderate. I Fat cattle—Although the entry was small, consisting of only 152 head, aud mostly steers, was of prime quality. There was an extremely dull sale, and prices showed a further decline. Steers sold at up to 20s per 1001 b, while cows wont as low as 15s. Per-head steers sold at £6 15s to T 9 17s 6d, heifers £5 7s 6d to £7 2s 6d, cows £5 5s to £6 7s 6d.
Fat calves; —Thero was a fair entry, which realised recent values, selling at 7s 6d to 40s a head.
I Store cattle—There was a small yarding j which met with a very indifferent demand, I and values were barely maintained. Sales I were effected at the following prices : Yearlings 22s to 265, 15 to 18 months 43s to 52s 6d,two year old steers L2 10s to L 3 17s 6d, two year, old heifers L2 17s 6d, three year old Bteers passed at L 4 2s 6d, dry cows 30s to L2 19s. Dairy cows —A few good milkers were well competed for and the high figure for recent times of L 9 5a was made. Old.and inferior cows could scarcely be given away. Fat sheep.—There was a small entry, and a very firm market for all desorip. tions. Prices were as follows:—Wethers 20s to 23s 4d, ewes, prime, 19s to 225, others 15s to 18s.
Fat lambs.—The entry as a whole was of good quality, and both butchers and exporters competed fregly, previous rates being fully maintained. Frcezera sold at 16s 3d to- 18s sd, butchers’ lots at 15s to 20s 9d. Of the entry of about 3000 about 2600 were taken foe export.
