Tho local I gaol authorities say that it was Ellis who f assisted in the escape of tho celebrated I prisoner Jonathan Roberts. Roberts got I away from a galvanised iron hut at Ripa Island by means of a hole cut in the wall. A fire destroyed a painter's workshop at Linwood this morning, the property of Mr Archibald. Tho building was insured in the Liverpool, London and Globe, for £75, and the contents for 11225.
