Tho olevor dramatio combination known sa the Woods-Williamson Company will make a woloomo ro-appoaranoo at His Majesty’s Theatro to-morrow evening. The pioco sc looted for the initial production is Miss Maud Williamson’s adaptation of Mr J M Forman's suooossful romanoo, .*> The Garden of Lies.” The New Zealand 1 Herald, in referring to the first production of this drama, says:—“ Xho play was heartily applauded by the immense audience. It is a clever and artistio adaptation of the work, the dramatio incidents of which have boon deftly woven into sequence so as to form a delightfully I romantic drama. Spaoo forbids reference | to the plot more than to say that it is full Of strong dramatio incidents, flavored with healthy romance and relieved with pleasant touches of comedy. Miss Williamson sustains the role of Bleanofi Princess of Noyodnitt, and her conception was that of a brilliant artist. Mr Alfred Woods has a part in Dennis Mallory, in whioh ho fairly revels, and wo have never before scon bun to bettor advantage, despite the many excellent performances he has givon here. He is manly and plays with ardour m tho . lovo scenes with tho Prinoess, besides carrying off with breezy effect tho happy-go-lucky side of the daehing young advonturcr’s oharaoter.' Tho two prinoipals received excellent support from their really olevor oompany, each artist being nioely placed. Tho new soonery used was very beautiful, that of the first aot, and the rose garden of aot two and five rankmg with the very best ever aeon in Auckland. On Thursday, the first night of tho raoos, the Company will present for the first time in Gisborne the successful faroial 'comedy, “My Wife’s Mother,” and on Friday .Hall Caine’s masterpiece, 11 The Christian.
