Cou jt; -in.- sentencing Frank Voss to two years for .theft, the Chief Justice said tho prisoner was-one of those men who,should, never be allowed out of gaol, but kept working for the State. The Chief \ Justice referred to the Case as a deliberate attempt to oheat people, aooused having lodged a sum of LSO with a Christchurch firm, and then proceeded to operate on it to tho extent of L7OO. The eentence will Jrun concurrently with tho one accused ..is ' now serving, adding five months to the ■ term. W Benjamin Thorpe, a youth who pleaded .1 guilty to breaking and entering,' was ’J admitted to probation for twelve months, -4 with no order as to costs. ;
