FISK JUBILEE SINGERS.

The Fisk Jubilee Singers will open at His Majesty’s Theatre on Saturday night next in a series of three oonoerts to be given here. The company that comes to keep alive “ Fisk Jubilee ” traditions is a capable one. It consists of nine vocalists whose choruses are models of harmony and animation, and who as soloists possess voices quite exceptional. Miss Bella F. Gibbons is described as •* the only lady baritone.” Certainly her voice has a depth and volume quite unusual in a lady, and she controls it with great skill and taßte, and her rendering of “ Star of My Life ” was, deservedly, well received. Of course, she was recalled, but as this is a general remark in dealing with all the items on tho programme, it need not be repeated. Miss Beatrice Morcor, who has a contralto voice of very pleasing quality, sang “ Ab-sent.-’and, for encore, •* Sweetest Flower that Blows.” As to male soloists, the company has a remarkable trio in Mr Clarence Tisdale, a colored tenor, Mr Harry C. NewtoD, a white bass singer, and Mr B H. Collins, baritone, Mr Tisdale has a tenor voice of peculiar sweetness and purity, and carried the house with him His ,firet number was «< There’s Nobody Just Like You, and his encore song was equally amorous and entrancing. The popular “ Out on the Deep ” wus robustly sung by Mr Newton, who gave “Asleep We inevit£ >bla encore. He made himself a firm favorite, as did Mr Collins, who, for his “ Come Beloved " was twice reca led. Mr Collins’s encoro songs were of the coon variety, inimitably presented. A quartette by Messrs Tisdale, Collins, White, and Newton hit the audience m a risible spot ; it is entitled They Kissed, and is distinctly I oiven through. The chorusef [ given by the company included “ The Ri™!l" C *w P ¥? eti , n g.’' “’Tis Jordan’s ,To.
