(Per Press Association.) Wellington, yeslorday. The trial of James William Ellis, alias Jack MoKenzio, charged with tho murder of Loonard Roovo Coliinson,’ at To Awaite on February 26th, opened to-day before Judge Denniston and a jury. Mr Myers, Crown Proseoutor, in opening tho oaso, said the Crown relied ou circumstantial evidence to oonnoot tho prisoner with tho crime, for whioh there was strong evidence of motive. Ho made an application for tho jury to visit tho I scene of the crime. His Honor said tho matter was ono for tho jury to decido. Tho jury decided to go, aud left by this afternoon’s train. Tho trial was adjourned I till Wednesday. J
