HURRICANE AT NIUE.

MUCH DAMAGE DONE’,

All woodwork belonging to jetty, beacons, eta, were eutofiy demolished, but the jetty itself, m u J of iron ' framed no injury. The ground was covered with eocoanuts and leaves, which were stripped off the trees. The effect on the copra crop will be disastrous, as moat of tho young nuts remaiumg on the trees aro injured by salt water and will drop off. The bananas near the coast hne are completely destroyed.
