MOTU NOTES.
(From Our Own Correspondent.). Feb. 1. Mr Hingstone, Inspector of noxious Weeds, paid a visit to Motu last week. The weather has been very wintry since Saturday last. The formation of Wbinray.road has been carried out as far as Mr W. J. Rood's secfcion, where it has been at a standstill for some little time. However, the work may bo continued at any moment. Grass seeding iB now in full swing.. OwiDg to tho Poututu river and others on the road being flooded on Monday Mr Cassidy's coach was unablo to get through. The mail was brought on a pack-horse. A fine iron shed has been erected by Mr McGregor for the manufacture of butter boxes. It is hoped the venture will be a successful one. In connection with the Motu branch of the Farmers’ Union a private stook bureau has been established. The secretary of tho Union will receive the entries of stock for sale, ond one per cent commission will be charged, one half to be devoted to the funds of tho Union and the balance to the secretary.
