(Per Press Association.) Dunedin, last night. A married woman named Jessie Smoal, wife of a carpenter residing in Clyde’ street, committed suicide early this morning. Her husband missed her from bed about 5 o'clock, and making a search dia- ■ covered her hanging by a towel from the I door of an outhouse. He at once cut her down and sent for medical aid, but life was extinct. Deceased had been in i]J. health for some time. Information has been received that the Rev. Dr. Frank Dunlop, of Knox Church Invercargill, and a son of Professor Dunlop, of the Theological College, Dunedin, has been asked to contribute three articles to the Dictionary of Religion, edited bv Dr. Hastings. J ' A fair amount of interest was taken in the poll in the borough of South Dunedin to docide whether to amalgamate with the city.
