LAW EXAMINATIONS.
The following letter has been forwtrded to tho Right Hon. R. J. Seddon by several looal students upon tho subject of law examinations : “ We beg to bring under your notiie the claim of young men who are ia solcitors’ offices, and who desiro to pursui their studies in the essential work befere the legal examination takes place. Th(re are those who have not had opportunties of preparing, and if they fail in the Deember examinations they have to wait for 12 months before being again tested. May we suggest that something should bi done to enablo youDg men to sit at perods of six months, and only in subjocts inwhioh they fail to secure a pass. Thiswould givo encouragement to many mei, and would enablo them to better preparothemaelves than does the present arrangements. We are suro, sir, - that if you coulc introduce legislation to bring about this end in tho University examinations you would be conferring a great benefit upoi many young men.”
