NAMBUCCA WRECK.

(Per Press Association.) Wellington, last Dight. Tho magisterial inquiry into the loss of tho stoamor Hambucca on the 16th iust. near Sinclair Hoad was oponed to day. Captain North deposed that ho ran into thick weather about 8 o’clock, and endeavored to pick up a point of land in order to discover bis whereabouts. Ho kept the vessel at full speed, or tho tide would have run him back. He saw no light on account of the fog. Had there been a low light at Penoarrow, he would probably have seen it. SVitness admitted that he was too anxious to find land. He saw land six

minutes before tho ship struok the rocks. Captain Manning, who was called to give evidence, said that undor tho conditions set forth by Captain North ho would not have run in towards the land. Further hearing waa adjourned until next Monday.
