(From Our Own Correspondent.) Jan. 22. L, We have indeed boen having hot summer weather lately, of whioh the various crßcks boar evidence, some of them having all but ceased to flow. Station-holders and section-holders have been taking advantage of the fine weather, and have experienced good burns generally. It is to bo hoped we shall have a change shortly as most of tho inhabitants here aro already getting short of water. Tho schooner Aotoa arrived here from Auckland on Friday, and after landing general cargo proceeded on her way to Gisborne via other Coastal ports. A orickot matoh was played at Tokomarn Boy on Saturday, the 21st inst., between the Waipiro and Tolago Bay Clubs, Waipiro winning by two wickets.

Tho Tolago-Waipiro cricket match was played at Tokomaru on the 21st, resulting in a win for Waipiro by three wickets. This being tho second game for Mr Lois&l’s Cup the match was very interesting. The fielding was exceptionally good. It seemed impossible to get a ball through the fielders. There wore a number of ladies present from Waipiro, Tokomaru, and Tolago Bay. Mr Oates did the catering, and maDy thanks are due to that gentleman for the trouble he took to make a pleasant day. The following are the scores : TOLAGO BAY. First Innings.
