A dead body has been found at Cbandlers Island, presumed to bo that of one of the crew of tho yacht Shumroek, missing since December 28, when the yacht left Kawau for Auckland. Sir Alfred Cadman, Speaker of the Legislative Council, whose condition after a recent operation caused grave apprehension, is now rapidly recovering. Hamilton, last night. At a reunion of those who fought in South Africa, Colonel Davies, in a forcible speech, complained of the apathy of the public towards volunteering. Ho believed we should have to fight again, but could not tell when nor where. Mr Lang, M.H.8., and other speakers expressed similar VISW Napier, last night. A verdict of accidentally drowned was returned at the inquest on the body of McCormack, drowned at the breakwater on Saturday.
