BUILDING BYE-LAWS.

(To the Editor Gisborne Times. Sir, —When the Gisborne contractor erected the post-office building tho Corporation allowed him space to work, and he fixfd up a fence and formed a pathway for passenger traffic. Why has not the same course beon adopted with tho contractor for the building in course of erection in Peel street ? Two-thirds of the street is monopolised, the pathway used for mixing cement, thus preventing passenger traffic. If such a privilege is allowed to one contractor, then the same must bo conceded to others. Such a state of affairs does not reflect credit on thoße in charge of affairs.—l am, etc., AN OLD SUBSCRIBER.
