A NARROW ESCAPE.
(Pec Press Association.)! Blenheim, last night. The captain of tho steamer Gannet brought word to Picton this morning of having sighted a boat off Dieffenbach bottom upwards. All its sails wore set. There was no trace of tho oocujpants. A boat in charge of two young men named Huntley left Picton about 10 o’clock last night for Blackwood Bay, where they reside. Search parties have gone on*. Later, —An upturned boat, in which two young men named Huntley left Picton on tho previous day, was discovered in the Sounds a few miles from Picton this morning, and considerable anxiety was felt. It now appears that the two men are safe, having swam to the shore when the boat overturned. They had to swim for over half an hour.
