ANARCHIST WITH INFERNAL MACHINE.

By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright New York, Jan 16. Gossler Rousseau, an Anarchist, who declined to give his real name, attempted to blow up Frederick the Great’s statue at Washington. He was arrested and found to be in possession of an infernal machine. He confessed that he sent a similar machine to tho Cunard line pier in 1903, hoping to destroy the steamer Umbria. Rousseau has been transferred to New York. He is supposed to be connected with the explosion attributed to Fenians, which occurred at the Welland Canal some time ago.
