THE PREMIER’S VISIT.

Iu the evening the Premier and party ft by tho Hiuetnoa for Wellington. $ A PI KB. Burgess, Fraser and Co’s warehouse* street, was gutted by fire at 830 on Saturday night. The brigade confined the outbreak to the lower floor, where all tho goods, with the office, were destroyed. A large stock on tho upper floor was also considerably damaged Dy smoke and water. The value of the stock was between £3OOO and £IO,OOO. The insurances, totalling ££7ooo, arc in tho Queensland ofiico, boiog partly reinsured. The books and papers were recovered.
