A PLUCKY RESCUE.
(Per Press Association.) - Auckland, last nights At Te Aroha this morning two children belonging to Mr W. Rowe were playing on the river bank, when one of them, a little girl aged 9, fell in. Her aged 11, got iu and tried to pull her out. The water was too deep, and the current was strong. Several people arrived, Tju? were unable to render assistance. Thos, Mclndoe heard the screams and raff throwing off his coat and vest as he went, and plunged in. The children were sinking, the boy keeping hold of the girl. Mclndoe grasped tho boy 83 he dived sand brought him up to the surface sholding to the girl, and all were sa landed oil tho beech. The place w T they fell in was deep water, and the rent was taking them away, and but Mclndoo’s plucky rescue they would fr have been drowned. - —«
