The brigade soon arrived on the ecene, and succeeded in Eubduing the flames, but not before the building had been completely gutted. A few articles of furnituro were got out, but the loss /*' practically a total one. The owned by the estate of-the late Hon.-? SwansOD, and, as far as can be aseertj* was not insured. The ,<Wacovered by a policy of £IOO in the Liverpool London and Globe office. There is nothing to account for the origin of the fire.
