ATTEMPTED ASSASSINATION,

Ivantyky, a nobleman, on the pretext of presenting a petition, tried to assassinate the Chief of Polioe in hie offioe at Ekaterinisho. The shot missed, and Ivantyky was arrested.

HUNDREDS ALLEGED TO HAVE BEEN KILLED.

London, Jan 10. There-are extraordinary rumors at Sodz about rioting in St. Petersburg. Hundreds are supposed to have been killed in the streets. A concert in aid of the Sodz Bed Cross branch was abandoned. No audience put in an appearanoe owing to the general uneasiness.
