His Royal Highness is thirty elx years of ago. and the sod .of Princess Alice t third child of Queen Victoria,' whoso favorite grandson ho was. His third sister is Princess Henry of Prussia, while the youngest is Emp'ress of Russia. Tho Grand Duko is a pleasant, affable man, a good, talker, speaking English like a native, and very fond of outdoor sports. He draws and paints well, and is a liberal patron of art and-artists.
