They declare that Sydney is free of any trace of the disease. Their opinion is that the infeotion came from Brisbane.
The underwriters have reoeived advioes that the cargo of the Buteshire’s No. 3 hold was badly damaged by fire, and was being discharged at Oapetown, where the vessel arrived from New York. The Dudley Go-operative oolleries, which were yestorday partially working, were idle to-day, the miners declining to continue to do wheeling. The Newoastle Goal Company’s and Glabe pits are the only two, out of those where the wheelers struck) now working.
