Received 9.35 p.m., January 5. SYDNEY, Jan. A Reports received by the Board of Health of the outbreak of plague on the Clarence river show that tfie local doctors are convinced, that at least one is a case of true plagueThe Board torday despatched .officers to investigate. : In the meantime the local authorities are taking every precaution :to r quarantine the hospital and homes Of the patients. Besides the Plummers, who were supposed to have succumbed to ‘heat apAf>lesxy, two other recent deaths are believed to have resulted from plague. The discovery was made through tine or two patients now under treatment undergoing an operation for appendicitis. The examination disclosed jplaguo haccilius.
