Mr Seddon explains that he did not state that the salary of the general manager of the State Five Insurance Department would be £1250, and that this has been compared yuth the salary of the Bank of New Zealand auditor, which is £1250. The salary of tho fire insurance manager will be £BSO. The Premier leaves for the West Coast at 4 o'clock iq the morning,
