Lieutenant General Egarton telegraphs that Colonel Ivonua, with 200 British and Indian mounted troops, 50 Bikenils, and 200 “ tribal ” horso, while reconnoitring from Eil Dib, surprised 2000 Dervishes at Jidballi, eastwards of Badwein. Three hours’ fighting ensued. Eighty Dervishes were killed and 100 wounded. The British casualties were nominal. Receivod 9.37 a.m., Dec. 27.
