Last week William O’Keefe, a farm laborer at Terang, Victoria, met with terrible injuries by falling on to the knives of a reaper and binder machine. Both legs wero mangled in a shocking manner, and his right shinbone was broken. Private letters received from South Africa state that the wheat and hay harvest m South Africa is an absolute failure even worse than was experienced in the northern district of Victoria last year. The opinion is expressed that the whole of the supply of flour and fodder required will have to be imported.
