ST. MARY’S CONVENT SCHOOL.

BREAKING-UP CEREMONY,

. A large and representative gathering of ladies, including the parents and friends of the pupils of St. Mary’s Convent School were present at the break up and distribution of prizes. Tbe following programme was most creditably rendered by the pupils:—Pianoforte duet, 11 Eaust,” Miss Somervell and Liddell ; violin solo, “Pirates of Penzance,” Miss Lullie Power ; v.oeal solo, "Nightloss Land,” Miss Lizzio Po wer; pianoforte solo, “ Godard’s Mazurka,” Miss Victoria Bridges ; vocal solo, “ Island of Dreams,” Miss Eileen Lav/ ; Pianoforte solo, “ Rondo Brillante in E flat,” Miss Rose Liddell ; chorus, “ I Heard a Voice,” pupils: violin solo, Gounod’s (l Ave Maria,” Miss Luilio Power ; voca 1 solo, “ The Swallowß,” Mies Eileen Law ; pianoforte solo, “ Caprice Hongrois,” Miss Muriel Wright: recitation, “ Premium Day.” Misses Power, Simon, and Hennessy ; chorus, “ Merry Merry Christmas,” pupils. The ladies then adjournen to the large reception room to inspect tbe fancy work, wood-carving, paintings, &c., executed by the pupils during the year, and to partake of afternoon tea.

Father Buckley :—Christian doctrine, Miss Nellie Power ; amiability, first prize (presented by Miss Neill) Miss Nellie Martin, second Miss Annie McPhee ; senior practical Trinity College (London) examination, Miss Florence °Somerveli, Miss Victoria Bridges, Miss Katie Currie ; intermediate practical examination, Mjs3 Amy Solvander, Miss Linda Nicholson; junior practical examination, Miss Kathleen Martin; singing, Miss Eileen Law; algebra, Miss Dora Booth; book keeping, Miss Katie Currie ; fancy work, Miss Nellie Martin; woodcarving, Miss Valia Sirnson; first prize junior honors theoretical examination, Pearl Maynard; writing, Miss

liliss j/oari Mujutiiu, Gladys Fernandez; arithmetic, Miss Irene Chrisp; writing, Miss Norma Wyllio; reading, Miss Annie Bridges; reading, Miss Annie Hennessy; geography, Miss Mary Martin; arithmetic, Miss Mary Brownley ; spelling, Miss Lily Morrow ; writing, Miss Dorothy Martin; reading, Mies Agnes McConviile; writing.
