CRICKET.
WAEBENGA-A-HIKA V. COMMON, SHELTON AND CO.
A very enjoyable cricket match was played at tho College grounds, Waerengaa hika, yosterdny afternoon between the above Clubs, and resulted in a draw, each sido 40 runs. McGrutbor won the to3s, and sout'Common, Shelton to the wickets. The bowling of Foote and Koro was very deadly, and the innings only totalled 40, Roderick 9.
Waeronga-a-hika replied with a liko score, Kero 11, Foote S. and Rev. Jennings .6. Barlow and Bayly shared the bowling honors, the former taking three wickets for four runs. The visiting toam was most hospitably entertained at afternoon tea, which was presided over by Misses Jennings and Newman. Stumps were drawn at 5.45 p in. to enable the visitors to catch tho 6 o’clock train, which picked them up at tho Collego road. Following aro the scores:—

The second round in tho Thursday cricket matehos waa concluded yesterday, when Union and United mot on the Victoria Domain, Union winning after a close game by 15 runs. United batted first and scored 54 ; W. Gibson 28, Torter 9. J. Ferris did the bulk o£ tho.bowling, securing 6 wickets for 20 runs. Upon going to the wickets Union made 69 ; McDonnell 19 and Tattersall (not- out) 23, being the chief scorers. W. Gibson did most of the bowling, securing 8 wickets lor 39 runs.
