In the Magistrate’s Court to-day, George Fisher, M.H.R., was, on the application of the police, recommitted to the Inebriates’ Hombp'Waita--1,1, for 12 months. Two medical men certified that Fisher’s case was curable.

In the enquiry into the stranding of the Ruby Seddon the Court found that the vessel grounded in the Suez Canal through the bad steering oi the helmsman, and returned the captain’s and mate’s certificates. The captain was ordered to pay the costs of the enquiry. CHRISTCHURCH, last night.
