THE WEBB AND BECKE SCANDALS.

Counsel for the defence stated that Webb had offered £1 a week maintenance. Counsel for the prosecution said he intended to ask for £2. The case was adjournod for a week. Ball was fixed at £IOO.

Tho Court dismissed a petition of Bessie May Becke for a divorce from Louis Beoke. the well-known author, on the ground of dosertion. The Judge said ha was satisfied the partios had mutually agreed to live separate. Therefore there had been no desertion.
