RANGITATA FATALITY.
(Per Press Association.) Timaru, last night,
An inquest on the bodies of Duncan Robertson and Thomas Trigg, the victims of the boating fatality at the Rangitata mouth, was held on Saturday afternoon at Orari, and a verdict was returned of “ Accidental Death from Drowning." The evidence showed that the three men (Morrison was saved) crossed the river too near the mouth at low tide, and once the boat got into the stream which was running at a great ratq to the sea, they lost control of it, and it was carried over the bar.
Morrison was too ill to give evidence. He was in a delirious state. The funeral of Robertson to-day was largely attended.
